Easter Festivites

We went to Eckert's today for an Easter egg hunt and visit with The Easter Bunny:) Brennan was SO excited to see the bunny! He loves costumed characters!

Playing fivesies with the bunny.

We even saw some friends there including this sweet little guy:)

We held some chicks and bunnies, too.

Brennan got a face painting of a tiger and here he is imitating one:)

Bracelets and Necklaces

These are the bracelets and necklaces I have been SO excited to share with everyone. There is a foundation called Network Against Malaria. They raise funds for insecticide treated mosquito nets in Uganda to help prevent malaria. The striped beads are made by Ugandan women and sent to the foundation here in the United States where the necklaces and bracelets are beaded. Then the profits go to Uganda for the mosquito nets. They recently sent $6,000 for nets which saved almost 2,000 lives!

We are selling them to also help raise money for the Promise Walk. The bracelets are $10 and the necklaces are $15. ALL profits are a donation to Network Against Malaria and the Promise Walk-both non-profit organizations. Each necklace and bracelet is unique. The pictures shown are just a few that I have. Let me know if you're interested in buying one and if there is a certain color you want and I can send some pictures of what I have. If you live near me and would like to see them, you can contact me at kimwyman81@gmail.com. I am thrilled to be able to offer this one of a kind jewelry to help raise money for 2 organizations!

A New Journey!

So my last post about Brennan I said I cannot imagine my days without him, I literally cannot imagine him being gone every day, all day. Brennan is in his second year of preschool-which means next year is kindergarten! I had contemplated holding him back a year because he has a summer birthday, he is a boy, and he was a preemie. The only thing he was really behind in was his physical strength and abilities. I say was because he was tested last May and I think he has come a long way since then. So I was back and forth about holding him back because physical abilities are big for boys and sports and confidence, but I really think cognitively he is ready. At his school they go through a letter a week and every week they were getting farther and farther into the alphabet and I'm fretting about my decision to hold him back or not as the year is coming closer to an end and then I started thinking about all of that time he would be away from me next year and it didn't make me happy. I felt very anxious and it just didn't feel right. I know everyone has a hard time sending their children to school, but I wondered if there was a way we could have both. I started researching different things and talking to people and did more contemplating and decided I'm going to home school Brennan next year! Once I started researching (and I still have a lot more to do) I kept finding more good reasons to do it. Many, many good reasons. I know that people are going to think I'm crazy (believe me, I have seen it in person when I mention it), but that's ok! I am soooo excited that this is happening and I feel sooo fortunate that I am able to do it. I would be a complete liar if I said I wasn't nervous. I mean my child's future and education is in my hands, it's damn scary. But I feel like I have a phenomenal amount of resources and a strong desire to do everything I can to make this a positive experience for Brennan-and I don't feel near as nervous as I did thinking about sending him to school.

I still don't have Casey convinced that this is the best thing, but he isn't disputing me anymore so I'm taking that as a yes or at least not a no:) I am not saying this is forever, but we will see how it goes! I appreciate everyone's support!

Flying kites and playing at the park:)

Brennan and I came home from school today and ate lunch and went outside to play. It was pretty windy and Brennan has had this shark kite that GiGi got him and we have been wanting to fly it. We have a lot of trees in our yard so we really needed to take it to the park, so that's what we did!

Brennan had so much fun!

Brennan is so into sharks and ocean animals right now so the sky was actually the ocean and the shark was up there eating fish:)

Thanks for the fun kite GiGi!

Of course we had to make our way to the playground for a bit.

I have SO much fun with this guy!! I cannot imagine my days without him!

The links to our other kite flying adventures can be found here and here:)

We made it to the zoo today! I was pretty determined to get there today and all week there was a chance for rain. When I looked last night I saw that it wasn't until afternoon so I was thrilled. The weather was perfect! We went early because the Children's Zoo is free and I just wanted to get an early start, I'm glad we did. It was a little cooler and breezy in the morning and not as crowded. I'm pretty sure we saw everything!

Yes, even the snakes! Brennan insisted...

Thrilled to see the sharks in the entrance! He is not even going to know what to do with himself at Sea World!

♥ him!

About as tall as a pygmy goat:)

The river otters put on quite a show:)

The only picture of us, not the greatest, but at least we got one. One of our favorites, the penguins:)

I love these fun stress free days with Brennan. I see many more zoo trips in our future:)

So much for all of my frequent little blog posts. I'm not sure what happened, but we have been busy! We have also been sick so maybe that has a little to do with it. I'm just going to post a few pictures and some adventures we have been on. These pictures are from my phone and they are pretty crummy quality.

Today we had gorgeous weather so I had a nice walk with a friend this morning while Brennan was at school. Then when I picked him up, one of my friends/another mom asked if we wanted to ride the metro to St Louis to have lunch. After lunch we let the kids play at City Garden and of course they didn't want to leave:)

Then tonight daddy and Brennan grilled dinner-yum:)

Random, but here is Brennan playing a skittles game.

Sorting, graphing, counting, and eating of course:)

This is at the park last week on another beautiful day.

Here we are snuggling-one of my favorite things:)

Swimming! Brennan will be in swim lessons, most likely until summer and then I will probably continue them either at our neighbors or my moms.

Brennan is swimming on his own-I am so proud of him!!

We are hoping for a nice day at the zoo tomorrow...lets hope for no rain!
